Want to learn how to double your productivity right
away? This is going to be the right place, so stay with me and learn these 15
tactics that will boost your effectiveness and efficiency in your work and
life…
I’m going to share with you 5 action steps that you
can take during the morning, the afternoon and the evening time each. So you
can apply them accordingly and test out their effectiveness yourself. Here are
the 15 tactics:
1. Drink water once you
wake up
I learned this technique from Eban Pagan. And it has
became one of my best habits ever since. Do you know that in the morning right
after you wake up, your body is lack of water due to the long hour of sleep and
dehydration? And when you drink in a lot of water, you slowly hydrate your body
and start the functioning of your internal organs. You will feel more energetic
a few minutes after drinking the water.
2. Go through your goals
and things to do before you start your day
Again, this is a pretty common tactic, but most people
never really follow through. This is a very powerful strategy because it puts
you in a position of clarity of what you want to accomplish before you start
your day. It helps you stay in the right direction and keep you on track.
Furthermore, reviewing your goals can inspire and motivate you to take more
action.
3. Get healthy breakfast
Never underestimate the importance of having a good
and healthy breakfast. There is a Chinese saying, “eat good for breakfast, eat
full for lunch and eat less for dinner”. There are some truths to this saying
because you need energy to get you moving especially in the morning. This is
why having a healthy breakfast is important. Can you imagine going through the
day with empty stomach? Do you think you can achieve more, be more effective
and efficient without breakfast? Even the word “breakfast” actually suggest you
to “break” the “fasting”.
4. Exercise or stretch
yourself
Most people don’t have time for this because they wake
up late. If you study the life of all great and successful people, you will
notice that they wake up very early in the morning to exercise. This is because
they know that exercising is good for their health and it allows them to have a
clear mind throughout the day. If you find yourself don’t have enough time for
exercise, at least do some stretching to “wake up” your physical body.
5. Smile and look at
yourself while in front of the mirror
Another great habit that I adopted a few years back.
Trust me, when you look into the mirror at yourself and you smile, it straight
away turns you into a better mood. You will feel happier and feel more
confidence to tackle whatever is coming during the day. Remember, you don’t
have to start great; you just need to start to be great. So smile and unleash
your greatness within.
The Afternoon Tactics
6. Focus in doing things
that truly matter first
Most people going through their day busy doing
nothing. The main reason is that they are busy doing things that don’t really
matter. You have to do what will give you the most results. Follow through your
action plan and your to-do list, do the most important task that will yield the
most outcomes you desire. Life is short, so stop wasting time doing things that
are not contributing to the future you want.
7. Take short break to
recharge yourself
It is said that your willpower will decrease as you
use it from time to time. This is why you need to take a short break to
recharge yourself. And this also explains why morning is the best time to do
your most important tasks first because it is when you have the most energy
(depending on whether you are a morning person). And as you go through your day
working on your tasks, your willpower will decrease gradually. Thus, you need
to stop and refill your energy.
8. Identify and get rid
of your time wasters
Stop spending excessive time with the social media.
Technology suppose to help boost your productivity, not wasting your time with
social media and looking at what others are saying about the latest movies. You
need to identify how you spend your time before you can get rid of your time
wasters. The most common time wasters are social media, spending time gossiping
about others, having long hour afternoon tea, checking emails too often, etc.
Identify what are the unproductive tasks that waste most of your time and get
rid of them.
9. Create affirmations
and use visualization to stay motivated
You have to do this throughout your day because there
are just too many distractions around you. You will tend to forget what you
need to get done and where you should be heading. This is why you need to use
affirmations to keep you motivated and visualization to keep you on track. In
fact, it is suggested that you do this 3 times a day, once in the morning, once
in the afternoon and once before you sleep. You want to program your goals and
your dreams into your subconscious mind so that you will take action to reach
them every day.
10. Listen to audio
while travelling
We travel all the time. We commute from our home to
our workplace almost every day. Even if you are a student, you will need to
commute to the school from your house each day, twice. So use this time wisely.
Listen to audio recordings to learn new knowledge. If you are running your own business,
try to get some talks or speeches from the gurus and learn from them while you
are travelling. If you can follow through this habit for 5 years, you will see
how profound this can change your life.
The Evening Tactics
11. Practice your second
wind workout
Robin Sharma, the author of The Monk Who Sold His
Ferrari, suggested that we workout twice a day, once in the morning after we
wake up, and once in the early evening after we finish our work. Again, you
don’t have to spend too much time into this, you can do some easy and simple
exercise such as jogging or simply taking a walk in the garden will do. You
want to recharge your energy and make your mind clear again during this time.
When you exercise, you take in more oxygen and this is what makes you more
energetic and have a clearer mind.
12. Spend 30 minutes to
read a book before you sleep
The same like listening to audio tracks while
travelling, you want to adopt the habit of
constant-and-never-ending-improvement. If you could spend 30 minutes for
reading each day, you should be able to finish 2 books in a month on average.
And within 3 years you should have read 72 books, do you think this is going to
transform your life and make you one of the best in your industry?
13. Meditate for calmer
and clearer mind
Meditation is a proven technique that can calm your
mind, make you more productive and in the same time, help you activate the Law
of Attraction. You can start this powerful habit by spending only a few minutes
into doing it each day. And then slowly increase the duration and make it into
a habit.
14. Plan and envision
for the next day
If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. It is true that
if you don’t know what you need to get done, you will end up wasting your time
and accomplishing nothing. All you need to do is to write down what you need to
do for the next day and envision going through the day smoothly. Once you have
prepared for the following day, your mind knows what to do and you will get
more things done.
15. Get enough sleep
I know that these 15 tactics sound like going to take
up a lot of your time. Don’t worry; you just need to apply some of them as a
start. More importantly, make sure you get enough sleep. You cannot be
productive if you are feeling exhausted, tired and sleepy during the day.
Success is not a sprint, it is a marathon. Therefore, get enough rest and don’t
give up until you reach your destination.
